Aidan takes a boat ride
August 4th- Aidan spent the day with Grandma and Gampy while I got some rest with the little lady. We were hoping to be able to join them for the boat ride but due to the heat advisory we stayed home instead. Aidan had been looking forward to this special day for about 3 days. Grandma was kind enough to tell him he could take a boat ride with Gampy when he came to visit. She didn't realize that Aidan expects it to happen now so for 3 days all he did was talk about Gampy and the boat. I never thought he was going to last until the big day. Another detail Grandma didn't realize is the boat does not set sail on the day Gampy arrived so Aidan had to wait another day. Luckily he survived to tell about it. He spent the morning at a movie yes you read that correctly he saw a free educational movie at the cinema. He came home and told me all about the walruses and how they burp/fart as well as other exciting facts. He lasted about an hour and then they came home. It's a toss up whether he liked the farting walruses or dancing to We are the Family the best. He came home for lunch made a shirt with Grandma got to skip his nap then went out for the much anticipated boat ride. He had such a good time and couldn't wait to get home and tell me all about it. Not only did he get to ride on the boat but there were dogs aboard and he got to drive. Aidan had a blast with his grandparents that his misses so much and I spent the day with Riley reading a book and relaxing. I missed my little man a ton but knew he had a good time and needed some special time with Grandma and Gamp!

Ok so we are huge fans of the park especially the library park. Aidan gets to play in the water, ride his car or just play on the playground. If you have meet Aidan you know this is a great outlet for him since he is a mover and a shaker. He was really excited to show Gampy all his new tricks monkey bars with some help and the rock wall unassisted!

Riley meets Gampy
Gampy was able to come visit for a few days on his way down to FL. Riley was as excited to see him as any newborn could be. She slept! This was a big change from how Aidan greeted Gampy the first time they met. Gampy seems to be a fan favorite among the grandchildren and Sean would argue among his daughters.

Aidan reads to Riley...
During a diaper change Riley got upset so Aidan rushed to get a book to read to Riley. He was so cute he kept telling her it was "K Wiley K Wiley" which he says everytime she cries. Then he began to read. Even though she was upset we let him read to her briefly because he was trying to be the best big brother possible. They both survived and he still enjoys reading to her especially when he sees these pictures.

Life as a family of 4 ever since I found out I was pregnant in early Nov. I was bracing myself for this moment. I was very excited as this was the plan but I was also extremely worried about how Aidan would adjust as well as having to take care of another human being. I remember going to my first doctor's appointment and he asked if I had any worries or concerns and I couldn't even get out the words "how my son will react" without my eyes filling up with tears. I ended up spending time worrying about a non-issue. Aidan is so in love with his sister and he can't wait to help out whenever possible. He loves to hold her hand for diaper changes, give kisses/hugs, and see her as soon as he gets up. The transistion is going well. Aidan wasn't my only concern I mean I knew I could take care of a baby/child after all Aidan is still here and doing well after 2 plus years. Riley has definately helped us all out in this transition she is a very relaxed baby who spends most of her time sleeping or cuddling with anyone who is willing. I hope everything continues to go smoothly but we are still bracing ourselves for some bumps in the road.
Storytime with Daddy and Molly
Storytime with Daddy and MollyGrandma turns 59 WOW that's old...
July 25th and Grandma is the big 5-9! Wow almost ready for the AARP! What could be a better birthday then hanging out with the Fitzgibbon Family I can't think of anything better. We had a very relaxed day since Riley was still too young to really go out and Grandma didn't want to do anything. We had taken her out to ice cream the week before because we knew Riley was coming soon and we wouldn't be able to do anything on the big day. (It also happened to be buy one get one waffle cone day but shhh don't tell Grandma) We ended up just hanging around the house and I think Grandma even did some shopping because that is what Grandma does best. She even came home with her own birthday cake. She clearly has a lot of faith in us, little does she know I was sending Sean out to pick one up but she ruined it. She got a fancy Sarah Lee cake (insert sarcasm) for herself because it was the only one Target had. Oh well we still had a nice day and this gave us an opportunity to pick on Grandma :-).

July 24th and Riley is a whooping 5 days old but we are off to the park. Aidan and I have always been on the go finding ways to spend our days and he has gotten use to being out and about with Mommy. Grandma did a great job of helping out and keeping this going when it was too hot for me to be outside or I just needed a break. Aidan definately had fun with his Grandma but he was starting to miss his Mommy and it was breaking my heart. He came over to me and said "Mommy I miss you" I couldn't stand it so off to the park we went! I was feeling pretty good and ready to give this a try. My delivery with Riley was a lot better despite the chaos so I was able to get out and go. My only concern was how Riley would do. She did really well and we all had a great time at the park. We brought our new stroller built for two and Aidan was so excited when I arrived. He had gone ahead with Grandma while I finished nursing Riley at home. As soon as we got there he came running over to check it out and inform me that he sits in the backseat. He also made sure to check out his sister. He then ran off and spent some time in the water. After some water fun we decided to go check out the turtles I wasn't sure if Aidan would want in the stroller but he could hardly contain himself nothing seemed more exciting then a ride with his little sister. After visiting the turtles Daddy had to push the stroller up the hill (it's really not that big) since Mommy was feeling good but not that good. We played a little more and then went home for a little lunch and naptime. It was really nice to get out as our family of four and of course Grandma. There is no stopping us now lots more trips to the park to come and I hope to never hear Aidan tell me he misses me or at least not for a while :-)

The first few days Riley and I were able to spend some quiet time resting on the couch while Aidan was out and about with Grandma or Daddy. I love cuddling on the couch and takig a quick little nap with my baby girl. She is such a cuddle bug! I know this won't last forever so I'll take it when I can get it!
